Despite “Yellow Wind Warning” for most of England, the wind generation is not a record high. This is because the Low does not reach as far as the Scottish wind farms…..only the East Coast / North Sea is feeling the benefit

Wind Steady Gust

Bridlington 23 45

Note: A doubling of wind speed = 8x more power…..
Power is proportional to wind speed cube

Bear in mind the the UK wind capacity is rated at 32GW at this point in time.

Bottom Line
A yellow warning does not automatically mean peak wind power. Record UK generation requires simultaneous strong winds across both Scottish and English clusters. Today’s low tracks too far south, leaving Scotland in its calmer flank—hence solid but unexceptional national output.
